El Proyecto de "Mi Frida":
The "Mi Frida" project in Spanish 2 consisted of 3 parts: reading and watching the biography of Frida Kahlo, writing a biography on a person of choice, and making a Frida Kahlo style painting featuring our chosen person.
My "Frida" was Michelle Obama. I have always looked up to her, because she was the first lady while I was growing up. I have always found her passions to be similar to mine, and I admire her kind personality.
The painting I chose to recreate is called "My Sister Christina". I also decided to base the Michelle part of the painting off of her Presidential portrait by Amy Sherald. In her portrait, Michelle is wearing the same dress I painted. I thought combining these two amazing paintings would be the best way to honor these three amazing women.

Calaveras Literarias
Calaveras Literarias is a phrase that means “Skull Literaries.” During this project, we were to create a satirical poem and art piece about a person or type of person. In these poems we were to talk about the person as a skull or dead person. The main message is, “everyone is going to die, no matter how much money, fame or status you have.” This tradition comes from Mexico for the Day of the Dead celebration on November 2nd.
I did my project on Miley Cyrus. The reason I chose Miley Cyrus was because I thought it would be fun to incorporate her lyrics into the poem, in which I was essentially making fun of her. I started by finding some common/famous Cyrus lyrics, and trying to find a place in a poem. I thought my final product turned out really well, and quite funny. |
